Electric Bikes or E bikes are bikes that are partially or completely powered through employing a motor that propels the bike. As such, E bikes are considered by the government ministry overseeing our sanctioned trails, as motorized. These trails are designated for non-motorized use. Therefore, E bikes are not permitted on trails sanctioned by the GCC in the CBT or Moonrakers network.
Please note this is not a policy developed by the Golden Cycling Club and does not reflect any of our personal opinion related to the use of E bikes. If you are unhappy with this policy the sounding board for your opinion would be the Ministry of Forestry Land and Natural Resources who you can reach through Front Counter BC.
