Fat Bike Grooming Report

January 13th

Mountain Shadows:

Mountain Shadows has gotten a full groom since the snow on Friday, and all trails that were previously open are open again. If you’d like something different, try riding up the road to the top of the Schacher cutblock and get some downhill in. All of the trails are riding really well!

Groomed: Premature, Berminator, Selkirk Slacker, Reflection Lake, Kobe’s (both directions), Huff and Puff, Chute the Duck, Schacher

CBT Side/ Kicking Horse:

We’ve gotten a full loop in on the upper CBT area (bug loop), including Odonata, which is packed out well and good to go, and Hemiptera and upper CBT, which has only gotten one good run through with our two groomers. This area might be a little bit soft until we can get another groom on it, so snowshoes or low tire pressure is advised. Be careful on the Hemiptera bridge, because snow on there is loose as well!

Groomed: Odonata, Hemiptera, CBT.

Next up: Another run through on these trails, and then Hymenoptera (jump trail)

Phat Burner 2025:

Details have been posted for the Phat Burner 2025 Fat Bike Race! A 10-ish km course, with some flowy downhill to keep you entertained. Check out the details and register here.

If you have any suggestions for what you’d like to see groomed, or if you’ve snowshoed something you’d like to ride, send us an email at admin@goldencyclingclub.com

Remember, fat bike trails are for riding fat bikes only; ie. 4″+ tires. Put the skinny tires away for the season. If you’re making ruts, you’re wrecking the trails and frustrating the groomer!
