Golden Cycling Club will once again be holding the kids learn to ride program this spring.

The program begins Saturday, April 22nd from 9 am until 11 am and finishes on the 13th May. It is a 4 week program. The sessions run the same time each week.

This year we will offer the camp to grade 1 through to grade 7  age children. The sessions are designed to teach the fundamentals of mountain bike trail riding in a safe, fun and controlled environment.

Registration will be available soon on the Golden Cycling Club web site.

To run a successful program the GCC needs active parent and volunteer help to lead groups and tail guide.

A PMBI Mountain bike instructors certification and/or first aid are not required but are a great asset. All you need is  ability to make sure kids have fun and ride safe.

The GCC will require volunteers to attend a short group meeting prior to the camp to review guiding, safety and first aid protocols.

You will also be required to complete a police background check as required by law when working with minors, this is free and only takes 5 minutes at the police station.   It can take 4 to 6 weeks to come through. Please print this page and take it with you to show that you are volunteering for the club.

Please consider helping out and contact our volunteer coordinator, Rebecka Ridell-Mckay at rebeckarm@gmail.com. For information about the program contact Andy Bostock, Andy@abstonework.ca
