There are a couple of dates coming up in May the GCC do not want you to miss!

May 7 will be our first volunteer trail maintenance day. More specific details are to follow, however, the work will focus on tuning jumps, berms, and low spots on Mighty Quinn. Our goal this year to see strong volunteer numbers at our events and the early signs point toward a healthy volunteer contingent – 21 people showed up to talk trails with Ryan Harvey at the first Trail Committee meeting. So often we see the same faces coming out do volunteer. We figure we must be dong something wrong in getting the message out there. We need all of you to sustain trail in Golden! Please consider joining us to put tools in the dirt on May 7! Of course there will be goodies and food! If you can plan to attend and let us know that would allow us to plan for enough food and beer for everyone. Please email our volunteer coordinator, Rebecka at rebeckarm@gmail.com and she will contact you with further details.

May 13 is the other day we want you to stick in calendar. This is the date for the GCC Spring Kick Off Poker Ride. This year there will be some changes to the playing of cards to ensure fair play and eliminate trading of cards. There will be a shorter five card course with some bonus fun planned in for those who want to extend the fun and the ride. We will meet up in the evening to play cards. As always our Poker Ride ride is unique because you can ride it at any time of the day! Just show up in the morning between 9 and 10:30am outside of Higher Ground to register and get your playing form then ride anytime before 7:30pm. The cost for the ride is $20 for members. 100% of this goes into the pot for prizes. In order to run this event without extra cost in insurance to the club, participants must be members of the GCC. You will be able to get your membership at registration. We have also been told beer toting trail fairies are likely to be attracted to trails during this event!

Until then, the trails are quickly clearing of snow and should be in great shape in a couple of weeks!
