Windstorm Cleanup Update: Almost $1000 was spent to clear trees on the new section of the Schacher so that the contractor could drive the mini-excavator out before the snow fell. That will be it for the season until after the various logging projects are completed. Further expenditure will be determined in the spring. MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE MEETING! Open to all members on Wednesday Nov. 8th at 8:30 at the Whitetooth Brewing Company. The goal is to come up with a list of priorities for next summer while things are still fresh in our minds and haven't been erased by (hopefully) many face shots of glorious pow. We know that the Mt. 7 downhill trails and some of the trails in the Mountain Shadows woodlot will need attention so the meeting will mostly be about all the other stuff. Come on out and help shape the maintenance program for next summer. ... See MoreSee Less
As we say goodbye to fall and welcome winter the GCC would like to remind all riders that Phase 3 of the Schacher Trail to the launch of Mount 7 is CLOSED to all cycle and foot traffic. This trail is still under construction and still very soft. Traffic on the trail with these conditions will create unwanted rutting and severe drainage issues. Please be patient and allow winter to work it’s compacting magic on the trail, and take this opportunity to ride the other stellar trails in the network.
Everyone say it again... no traffic on Schacher Phase 3 from above 5K to the Launch until constuction is complete. ... See MoreSee Less

If you got up to the top of Mt. 7 before the snow flew you might have seen this berm at the top of the new Schacher trail. A lot of thought went into this new trail's location and it did disturb another classic trail but rest easy as there is still great access to all the downhill trails off the launch of Mt. 7. Hurray for new trails and progression!
